This drawing began as a slow and fastidious (for me) outline, with the intention of following through with careful detail, but I got itchy to work more boldly. I finished much more loosely and energetically and really enjoyed myself, using very soft Caran d'Ache 9B graphite pencil and smearing the watercolor pencil strokes with my fingers. The painstaking underdrawing was fun, but two days later when I decided to complete it, I was in an entirely different mood, so I just let it rip.
